Welcome to Southern Sugar Bakery! We are thankful you stopped by, and we’d love to share more about who we are and what we do. Start to finish, our special process for these beautiful cookies takes at least three days to complete, and we’ll explain why below!

Our story: Southern Sugar Bakery was founded by Meredith College graduates and longtime friends Angie Tucker and Christin Snyder, who share a passion for creativity, community, and, of course, cookies!

Angie (’02) and Christin (’10) were both high school counselors when Christin began her cookie decorating journey in 2010. Angie joined the fun in 2012, and what started as a creative hobby quickly grew into something much bigger.

After becoming a licensed home-based bakery in North Carolina, the two spent their afternoons and evenings working out of Angie’s kitchen in Raleigh, baking and creating custom cookies for family, friends, and an ever-growing list of customers. Within just three years, their little cookie business had grown beyond what they could manage alongside their full-time counseling careers.

After much prayer and consideration, Angie and Christin made the leap in the summer of 2015, leaving their school counseling careers to pursue Southern Sugar Bakery full-time. They moved into their first commercial kitchen space and began building the business they had dreamed about.

What began with two friends, a kitchen, and a love for beautifully decorated cookies has grown into a thriving bakery with an incredible team of talented women. Today, Southern Sugar Bakery continues to create custom cookies with the same creativity, care, and attention to detail that inspired Angie and Christin from the very beginning.

We are so grateful for every customer, celebration, and opportunity that has been part of our story, and we can't wait to see what the future holds!

Our process: If you’re a first time customer, you have probably noticed that our calendar has specific dates to choose from for your order. This availability is based on our staffing and how many cookie orders we already have booked on our calendar. It’s important to order as early as possible, because we tend to book up quickly, especially during holiday seasons! 

We are grateful for so many wonderful customers over the years and hope that your order exceeds your expectations. To us, a beautifully decorated cookie is only as good as it tastes, so we strive for our cookies to taste as good as they look!
